Black Friday 2017: Save $800 on Base Model 2016 15-Inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

Apple authorized reseller B&H Photo Video is offering an impressive $800 discount on the 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar.

The flash Black Friday sale drops the price of last year's base model MacBook Pro in silver to $1,599, down from Apple's original price of $2,399 last year. That is by far the lowest price we've ever seen for this particular model.

The base model 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro is equipped with a 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of SSD storage, and both dedicated AMD Radeon Pro 450 and integrated Intel HD Graphics 530 graphics.

While newer 2017 MacBook Pro models with Kaby Lake processors were released in May, the performance improvements driven by the small bump in base and turbo frequencies are relatively minor and shouldn't be a big deal for most customers.

B&H Photo Video and Adorama have a few other notable discounts on select 2016 MacBook Pro configurations:

- 2016 13-inch MacBook Pro with function keys: 2.0GHz Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, Intel Iris Graphics 540 - now $1,149, originally $1,499 ($350 off)
- 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 2.9GHz Core i7, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, AMD Radeon Pro 460 - now $1,899, originally $2,899 ($1,000 off)
- 2016 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: 2.7GHz Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, AMD Radeon Pro 455 - now $2,099, originally $2,799 ($700 off)

The headline $800 off deal is available through November 25 while supplies last. The other discounts end as early as 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time today.

Black Friday 2017: Save $200 on Apple’s Latest 9.7-Inch iPad With Cellular on Two-Year Contract

Best Buy has discounted all fifth-generation 9.7-inch iPad models with Wi-Fi + Cellular by $200 on a two-year contract with Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint.

This limited time Black Friday deal drops the price of Apple's budget tablet to an all-time low of $259 for 32GB of storage or $359 for 128GB of storage, compared to regular prices of $459 and $559 respectively, in the United States.

The deal is available for select Gold and Space Gray models on Best Buy's website, with the deal for other models available at Best Buy stores only.

- 9.7-inch iPad/32GB/Space Gray — now $259, regular $459
- 9.7-inch iPad/128GB/Space Gray — now $359, regular $559
- 9.7-inch iPad/128GB/Gold — now $359, regular $559

Apple's fifth-generation iPad is its latest 9.7-inch tablet, released in March 2017 as a lower cost alternative to the iPad Pro.

The tablet, simply named iPad, is similar in many ways to the iPad Air 2, but it has a faster A9 chip, a brighter Retina display, and it is slightly thicker and heavier. It also lacks a fully laminated display and anti-reflective coating.

Other tech specs include an 8-megapixel rear-facing iSight camera, 1.2-megapixel front-facing FaceTime camera, two speakers, Lightning connector, 3.5mm headphone jack, Touch ID with Apple Pay, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, and Bluetooth 4.2.

Given its price point, the tablet lacks most iPad Pro features, including a True Tone display, Smart Connector, Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard support, 4K video recording, LTE Advanced, and four-speaker audio.

For deals on other Apple products and accessories, including non-cellular iPad and iPad Pro models, make sure to check out our Best of Black Friday article and our Black Friday roundup, which continue to be updated throughout the day.

Thanksgiving is well underway in the United States, and Black Friday deals online and at brick and mortar stores are starting to go live across the country. Major retail stores like Target, Best Buy, and Walmart will be opening their doors this evening, while many online-only deals are already live.

Below, we've rounded up some of the best deals we've come across on Apple products like iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Macs, and accessories, and many, many more deals can be found in our dedicated Black Friday roundup.

iPhone

Walmart is offering a $300 Walmart Gift Card with the purchase of an iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, or iPhone 7 Plus on an AT&T Next or Verizon Device Payment plan. This deal is limited to stores, with activation appointments available starting at 6:00 p.m. Actual activations will begin at 8:00 p.m.

Sam's Club is offering a $100 Sam's Club gift card with the purchase of "any Apple iPhone," which may include the iPhone X, but it isn't clear if the retailer will have any in stock. This deal does apply to the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus.

Target is offering a $250 Target gift card with the purchase of an iPhone 8 or an iPhone 8 Plus on an installment plan from Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T.

If you prefer a straight cash discount, Best Buy is offering up to $200 off the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on an installment plan from Verizon, Sprint, or AT&T.

iPad Pro

There are several deals to be had on the latest 2017 10.5 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models, with multiple retailers offering discounts.

Best Buy is discounting the 10.5-inch iPad Pro by up to $150, while Target will be offering a $120 discount, dropping the price on the entry-level 64GB 10.5-inch iPad Pro model to $530, down from the regular price of $650.

B&H Photo is also offering several iPad Pro models at $50 to $100 off.

5th-Generation iPad (2017)

Both Target and Best Buy are offering the 2017 32GB iPad for $249.99, which is a discount of $80 off of the regular price of $329.99. Walmart is offering the same deal.

If you're looking for a deal on a Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad, Sam's Club has the sole deal on the cellular model, offering $130 off.

Apple Watch

There are essentially no deals on the new Apple Watch Series 3 models, with the exception of Kohl's. Kohl's is offering $90 in Kohl's cash with the purchase of select Apple Watch Series 3 models.

Target is discounting Apple Watch Series 1 models by $70, dropping entry-level pricing down to $179.99. That's the best Series 1 deal, and Macy's is matching it by discounting Series 1 models by $70 as well, while Best Buy is offering a $50 discount if the previous deals are unavailable for some reason.

MacBook Pro

When taking into account B&H Photo's free shipping and no taxes on orders outside of New York, the company is offering the best deals on most MacBook Pro models. Adorama, which doesn't charge taxes outside of New York and New Jersey, is also offering the same discounts. MacMall and Best Buy's prices are similar on most Macs, but they can't beat no taxes for the most part.

Best Buy does actually have the best discounts on 15-inch MacBook Pro models and some higher-end 13-inch models, offering $50 off over Adorama and B&H, but in states where sales tax is a factor, B&H or Adorama deals are still likely to be better overall.

In some cases, Amazon also has comparable deals.

Best Buy is discounting all 15-inch MacBook Pro models by $250, while 13-inch models are between $150 and $200 off.

Macy’s Launches Apple Watch Series 1 Black Friday Discount: 38mm for $180 and 42mm for $210

The latest Black Friday deal has gone live today, and this time it's for the Apple Watch Series 1, which debuted alongside the Series 2 in September 2016. The Series 1 models lack the advancements of 2017's Series 3 -- like LTE and a faster processor -- but the older Apple Watch is still a reliable device, and now with a cheaper entry price over at Macy's, it makes for a great holiday gift.

The retailer has the Apple Watch Series 1 discounted by $70 beginning today, with 38mm models running for $179.00 and 42mm models priced at $209.00. In terms of overall Black Friday deals, we know that Target will match this $70 off Series 1 deal beginning tomorrow when sales there go live. So if you're looking to get some shopping done a little early, Macy's offer is the first notable Apple Watch Series 1 deal happening this holiday season.

Note: MacRumors is an affiliate partner with LivingSocial. When you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment, which helps us keep the site running.

Here's every Apple Watch Series 1 device available in Macy's sale:

As a point of comparison, the new non-LTE Apple Watch Series 3 models are priced at $329 (38mm) and $359 (42mm). Sales on Series 2 models have been appearing frequently throughout the fall, with the most recent dropping 38mm cases to $229 and 42mmm cases to $259. Until Black Friday sales, no notable deals had yet to arrive for the Series 1 devices following the launch of Series 3 in September.

If you purchase the Series 1, be aware that in comparison to higher-cost versions it has a slower S1P processor, lower water resistance (so it is not suitable for swimming), a display that doesn't get as bright, slightly lower battery life, and no LTE or GPS support. Otherwise, you'll be able to access all of the expected Apple Watch features like activity tracking, notification and phone call support with a connected iPhone, and more.

Also of note is an Apple Music deal going on at LivingSocial, where you can get a four month subscription to Apple's streaming music service for free. This deal essentially adds one extra month (priced at $9.99/month) onto Apple Music's existing three month free trial, and is only available to new subscribers signing up for an individual membership plan.

As always, you can visit our Black Friday Roundup to keep track of the latest deals going on heading into Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Some sales will begin going online a bit early today, but the bulk will see activation when retailers first open their doors tomorrow night between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time.
