LOS ANGELES — Sunday night football just got a little easier to stream.

Beginning Dec. 4, CBS All Access — the network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service — will offer subscribers the ability to watch regular, preseason and postseason NFL games.

CBS and the NFL announced the multiyear deal Thursday. Subscribers will also be able to sample content from NFL Game Pass, the NFL’s digital video subscription service which makes games and other programming available on-demand.

This is the latest of CBS’ efforts to up its offerings on its streaming service, as more networks continue to jump into the already crowded SVOD space. Read more…

Star Trek: Discovery has announced the first three crew members beaming aboard the upcoming CBS All Access series, which is slated to premiere next May.

CBS has confirmed the casting of Michelle Yeoh, who will play Captain Georgiou, the leader aboard another Starfleet vessel, Starship Shenzhou.

Also joining the cast is genre mainstay Doug Jones (known for his prosthetics work in projects including Hellboy, Pan’s Labyrinth and The Strain) who will play Lt. Saru, a Starfleet Science Officer and a new alien species to the Star Trek universe.

Rounding out the casting announcement, Anthony Rapp has been cast as Lt. Stamets, an astromycologist, fungus expert, and Starfleet Science Officer aboard the Starship Discovery. (If you’re wondering what an astromycologist is, you’re not alone: it’s apparently someone who studies “earth-derived fungi in space.”) Read more…
