Burger King announces Cheesy Tots with help from Napoleon Dynamite and Pedro

It’s impossible to forget the famous tater tots scene from the 2004 cult classic Napoleon Dynamite.

Burger King hasn’t forgotten about it. And apparently, the film’s stars Jon Heder and Efren Ramirez haven’t forgotten it either.

The original Napoleon and Pedro are currently spoofing the deadpan encounter in a new Burger King commercial advertising the fast food chain’s Cheesy Tots, which are back in stores for a limited time.

Behold! The cheese advent calendar. It lets you count down the days till Christmas and receive a dairy treat (of a different kind) everyday. 

You can make it yourself too, courtesy of an instructional post by London-based Annem Hobson in her food blog So Wrong Its Nom.

It’s basically a slightly modified version of a typical chocolate advent calendar that’s sold everywhere. That is, the tray has been reused for delicious morsels of cheeeeese instead of chocolate, and creating the box for maximum yellowy glow. Read more…
