‘Eggggg – The Platform Puker’ Available for Free as Apple’s App of the Week

Platform game Eggggg - The Platform Puker has been named Apple's App of the Week, and as a result, it is free to download for the first time since it was released in October.

Described as a two-touch platform game about vomit, Eggggg features a main character, Gilbert, who has a severe allergy to eggs. Eating eggs makes Gilbert vomit, and the vomit mechanic is used to propel Gilbert through 21 levels infested with angry cyborg chickens and other obstacles to overcome.

The game features smooth controls designed for mobile devices, and it comes with a sticker pack that can be used in the Messages app. From Apple's App Store description:
With Free App of the Week, we highlight a great app you can enjoy at no charge this week. (In-App Purchases sold separately). A severe allergy to eggs isn't funny -- unless it hatches a fantastic voyage through a world full of golden nuggets, homicidal chickens, and puke. So. Much. Puke. The controls in this bizarrely clever platformer are spot on, but sometimes we're giggling so hard at our barf-propelled hero that we slip up and die laughing. It truly is an Eggggg-cellent adventure.
Eggggg - The Platform Puker will be available for free from the App Store for the next seven days. [Direct Link]

Today’s the Last Day to Get USB-C Accessories and LG Displays at a Discounted Price From Apple

Since early November, Apple has been offering a significant discount on all of its USB-C adapters and accessories, including the 4K and 5K LG UltraFine displays, to ease the transition from USB-A to USB-C for new MacBook Pro owners.

Apple's discount is set to expire at the end of March, meaning today, March 31, is the last day to make a purchase before prices go back up.

At the current time, all accessories and LG displays are discounted by upwards of 25 percent, which is a major price drop. On the 5K LG UltraFine Display, for example, that cuts the regular $1,299.95 price down to $974. For the 4K display, the price drops from $699.95 to $524.

All of Apple's own USB-C accessories are available at a discount through the end of the day, with prices listed below:

- USB-C to USB Adapter - Was $19, now $9
- Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 Adapter - Was $49, now $29
- USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter - Was $69, now $49
- USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter - Was $69, now $49
- USB-C to Lightning Cable (1m) - Was $25, now $19
- USB-C to Lightning Cable (2m) - Was $35, now $29

Non-Apple USB-C accessories are also discounted, with price drops on hard drives, SSDs, adapter cables, and more.

Apple's sale was originally set to expire on December 31, 2016, but after availability issues with the 5K LG UltraFine Display, it was extended until March 31, 2017. Apple could potentially extend the sale again, but it's best to make purchases now if you've been holding off on getting a monitor or a new USB-C accessory.

Apple Adds 2016 MacBook Pro Without Touch Bar to Refurbished Store

Apple recently updated its online store for refurbished products to add the 13-inch 2016 MacBook Pro without a Touch Bar, which was originally released in October of 2016.

There are a limited number of models available for purchase with various processor, storage, RAM configurations. Prices are discounted by up to $390, with Apple offering 12 to 16 percent off depending on a machine's configuration.

Only higher-end models with upgraded processors, RAM, and storage are available at the current time, but earlier today, at least one lower-end machine was available for purchase. Apple's refurbished stock fluctuates often, so if you're hoping to get a specific configuration, it's best to keep a close eye on the refurbished store.

13 and 15-inch 2016 MacBook Pro models with Touch Bar are not currently available from Apple's refurbished site, but could be added soon based on the availability of the non-Touch Bar model.

All of Apple's refurbished products go through a rigorous refurbishment process before being offered for sale, which includes inspection, repairs, cleaning, and repackaging. Refurbished Macs come with a one-year warranty that can be extended with an AppleCare purchase. For more tips on purchasing a refurbished product, make sure to check out our dedicated guide.
