Deals: iPad Mini 4 Sales Continue, Exclusive Discount on iPhone/iPad USB Wall Outlet, and More

Best Buy this week has launched a sale on Apple's iPad mini 4, mirroring the $100 discount that Target placed on the 7.9-inch device late last week. You can get the 128GB iPad mini 4 from Best Buy in Space Gray, Silver, and Gold for $299.99, down from $399.99. There are also a few markdowns for the tablet on its cellular versions, depending on which carrier you choose.

Most notably, Best Buy is offering shipments to your home, unlike Target's sale which required in-store pickup. Free two-day shipping is available for the device as well, and anyone who buys one of Apple's smaller tablets during the sale will gain a six-month subscription to Trend Micro Internet Security for three devices. Furthermore, students can save an additional $20 on their total order if purchasing an iPad mini 4 with two years of AppleCare+.

In other discounts, we've partnered with Top Greener to offer MacRumors readers an exclusive 15 percent discount on the company's Dual USB Wall Charger Outlet at Amazon, priced at $19.29 with promo code RUMORUSB, down from $22.69. The accessory is rated at 2.4 amps per USB port with a maximum output of 24W, which should provide quick charge times for iPhones and average charge times for iPads.

There are also three interchangeable face covers in white, black, and light almond that come with Top Greener's accessory, but the wall plate that surrounds the outlet is not included. There are many simple and cheap solutions on Amazon, however, like Leviton's standard wall plate for $2.58.

To purchase the Top Greener Dual USB Wall Charger Outlet on sale at Amazon, select the "15A Dual USB Outlet" style on the Amazon page, add the item to your cart (making sure it specifies "Sold by Top Greener Inc."), and then type in the promo code "RUMORUSB" at the final stage of checkout. You have until Thursday, October 26 at 11:59 p.m. PDT to take advantage of the discount.

Also running this week only is an Aukey sale at Amazon, which ends this Saturday, October 21. Each Aukey accessory with a discount is listed below:

If you're looking for sales on smart door locks, The Home Depot's Special Buy of the Day is worth checking out today as well. The retailer has taken a variety of smart locking systems and marked them down by 48 percent, including the Schlage Sense Smart Lock in numerous colors and finishes for $179.00, down from $344.00.

Popular iOS Twitter Client Tweetbot 4 Gets First Discount of 2017, Dropping From $10 to $5

Tweetbot is one of the most popular third-party Twitter clients, and this week developer Tapbots has dropped the price of the latest version of the app -- Tweetbot 4 -- by 50 percent, from $9.99 to $4.99. The last time a similar price drop happened was December 2016, so the app had yet to see a discount throughout 2017.

It's not clear how long the discount will last, but given the length of previous sales (around 4-5 days), it should stick around until October 7-8.

The app lets you mute tweets by hashtags, users, sources, or keywords, includes an automatic night mode that turns on or off depending on the brightness of your iPhone's screen, and has basic Twitter features like direct messages and lists. Tweetbot 4 also retains Twitter's old reverse chronological timeline order, and doesn't surface cards that suggest Tweets you may have missed or that you might like.

Additionally today, Fry's has marked down BeatsX Earphones to a notable low of $94, in comparison to the traditional retail price of $150. You can purchase the earphones in Grey, Blue, White, and Black, and the discount will appear once the item is placed in your cart. This deal ends tomorrow, October 7.

Nodus Access Case (left) and Shell Case (right)

Apple Watch Series 2 Prices Continue to Drop Following Launch of Series 3 Models

The debut of the Apple Watch Series 3 brought about a few price drops for the previous generation Series 2 models last month, with B&H Photo offering around $290 for 38mm cases and $320 for 42mm cases in Aluminum. This week at Best Buy, prices have continued to drop by about $20 for a wide variety of Series 2 Aluminum models, with most 38mm versions selling for $270 and 42mm versions selling for $300.

Included in Best Buy's sale are Apple Watch Nike+ models and some Stainless Steel editions, with the latter models up to $120 off their original retail prices, and as much as $60 down from when we posted the previous Series 2 discount article in mid-September. Below we'll list a few models on sale with Best Buy's new prices (bold) compared to current prices of similar Series 3 collections on Apple.com.

Series 2 Aluminum

Series 2 Stainless Steel

Apple only offers Stainless Steel Series 3 models in LTE versions, meaning that all of the new models with a Stainless Steel case this year are automatically slightly higher in price due to the added LTE capabilities. In total, there are six Apple Watch Series 3 collections (all in Aluminum) without LTE among Apple's 31 new collections of the revamped wearable device. For this reason, anyone who isn't interested in cellular connection on their Apple Watch -- or in Series 3's faster processing speeds -- will greatly benefit from deals on the Series 2 models.

More of the latest deals can be found in our Deals Roundup, where you can find sales this week on the DJI Osmo for iPhone, certified pre-owned iPhone 7 models from T-Mobile, and more.
