Never, ever switch phone numbers with your mom.

A 15-year-old named Christian recently got himself in a sticky icky situation after swapping phone numbers with his mother. Someone didn’t get the memo, and unfortunately, that someone was his weed dealer.

Christian’s sister Anna tweeted out a photo of the exchange, which as an older, wiser sister, she found pretty hilarious.

“Need bud?” the text said.

As cannabis use becomes normalized, the tech industry is finally starting to innovate the seed to weed growing process.

A venture capital-backed company called LEAF just announced a new “Plug-N-Plant” grow system on Wednesday, making it easier for consumers to grow their own pesticide-free pot at home without having to maintain it like you would growing it the old fashioned way.

Recreational marijuana use is now legal in eight states and Washington, D.C., thanks to the recent election, and medical cannabis is allowed in some form in 29 states, returning cannabis as a major cash crop for the United States. NFL suspends player for using marijuana to treat Crohn’s disease

The NFL handed Buffalo Bills lineman Seantrel Henderson a 10-game suspension on Tuesday for violating the league’s controlled substance policy. 

Henderson was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last year, and uses marijuana to cope with the effects. His 10-game suspension comes after serving an additional four-game suspension at the beginning of the 2016 season for marijuana use. 

Henderson’s suspension provides even more fuel to the heated debate on the NFL’s arguably overbearing policy on marijuana use. 

“There is zero allowable medical exemption for this per the NFL,” Henderson’s agent Brian Fetter said after his first suspension, per Deadspin, “however, there clearly should be.” Read more…
