In other (nicer) news, the whole of New Zealand is doing a Secret Santa

The world may be a mess, but we’ll always have New Zealand.

Not only does the place have stunning mountains and Taika Waititi, they also have a country-wide Secret Santa.

Started by Sam Elton-Walters in 2010 and now run by New Zealand Post, the idea is this: Sign up, get matched with a random Twitter user and give them a light stalking to figure out what gift they might like.

Then send the present to New Zealand Post, who’ll forward it on in the name of holiday cheer.

Just lovely.
