CES 2018: Satechi Announces 75W USB-C Multiport Travel Charger

Satechi today announced the launch of a new 75W USB-C travel charger that's equipped with multiple ports to charge all of your devices with one simple power adapter.

The 75W Multiport Travel Charger offers four charging ports, including a USB-C power delivery port, two USB 3.0 ports, and one Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 port.

The USB-C port can provide up to 60W of power, making it suitable for the 12-inch MacBook, the 13-inch MacBook Pro, and similar USB-C devices. It can also charge a 15-inch MacBook Pro, but as that machine accepts up to 87W of power, it may not charge fully with the Multiport Travel Charger when under a heavy workload.

While charging a MacBook or MacBook Pro, the Travel Charger can also charge your iOS devices at the same time, with up to 75W of total power provided.

When using the USB-C port with a USB-C to Lightning cable, the Travel Charger enables fast charging on supported devices like the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X.

Satechi says the Travel Charger features an input range of 100-240V, allowing it to meet the voltage requirements of multiple countries. It has also been designed with a compact size to make it easy to fit into a backpack or luggage.

Satechi's USB-C 75W Multiport Travel Charger can be purchased for $60 from Amazon.com or directly from the Satechi website for $64.99.

CES 2018: Satechi Debuts New Dual Charging Station for iPhone and Apple Watch

At this year's Consumer Electronics Show, Satechi is launching a new Smart Dual Charging Station designed to charge both the iPhone and the Apple Watch at once.

Made from silver or space gray aluminum, the Charging Station features two separate docks -- one that accommodates a Lightning cable to charge the iPhone and a second one that houses an Apple Watch charging puck to charge an Apple Watch.

Unlike some docks on the market, Satchi's option does not come with built-in cords, so you will need to supply your own cables. Cables are designed to wrap around the base of the Charging Station inserts to hide any excess. Satechi says that its dock distributes a total of 15W of power, providing fast yet safe charging capabilities.

Satechi's Smart Dual Charging Stand will be available for $64.99 starting in the spring of 2018.

But there are lots of other options available on the market, and we've had a chance to try out a number of them, so we're rounding them up in this guide, which we'll continue to update going forward.

Satechi Launches USB-C ‘Clamp Hub Pro’ for 2017 iMac and iMac Pro

Satechi today announced the launch of a new USB Type-C Clamp Hub Pro, which is made from aluminum and designed to work with the latest iMac and iMac Pro machines.

Available in Silver or Space Gray, the Clamp Hub Pro plugs into one of the rear Thunderbolt 3 slots on the iMac or iMac Pro. It offers three USB 3.0 Type-A ports with 5Gb/s data transfer and a Micro/SD card reader.

Setting up the Clamp Hub takes just a few seconds using an adjustable knob, and its slim profile adds little additional visual bulk to the iMac. The Clamp Hub is compatible with the 2017 iMac Pro, the 2017 4K 21.5-inch iMac, and the 2017 5K 27-inch iMac.

The USB Type-C Clamp Hub Pro can be pre-ordered from the Satechi website for $49.99. It will start shipping out in the first week of January.

MacRumors Giveaway: Win a USB-C Pro Hub Adapter From Satechi

For this week's giveaway, we've teamed up with Satechi to offer MacRumors readers a chance to win one of Satechi's Aluminum Type-C Pro Hub Adapters, designed for Apple's 2016 and 2017 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro models. With these machines, a hub is a must because of the limited number of ports and the lack of USB-A.

Satechi's Pro Hub measures in at 4.5 inches long and 1.1 inches wide, and it plugs right into the side of a MacBook Pro, using two USB-C ports on either the left or right side (or just the one side on 13-inch non Touch Bar models).

Made of aluminum and available in either Silver or Space Gray, the hub matches well with the MacBook Pro, and at just 1.4 ounces, it's super portable and can even travel plugged right into your machine.

The Pro Hub features an HDMI port that supports 1080p video at 60Hz (4K at 30Hz), two USB-C ports, 2 USB-A ports, an SD card slot, and microSD card slot. The USB-C power delivery port supports 5K video (or 2x4K), 40Gb/s data transfer speeds, and passthrough charging up to 87W, so it works with all USB-C MacBook Pro models. The second USB-C port does not support passthrough charging, but offers data transfer speeds up to 5Gb/s.

Satechi sells the Pro Hub for $99, but we have three to give away to MacRumors readers for free. To enter to win, use the Rafflecopter widget below and enter an email address. Satechi Launches Type-C Pro Hub for 2016 MacBook Pro With Ports for Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, SD, and More

Accessory manufacturer Satechi today launched a new $99.99 Type-C Pro Hub for the 13-inch and 15-inch 2016 MacBook Pros, featuring a total of seven ports to make up for the inclusion of only Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports on the 2016 MacBook Pro.

The new hub is similar in design to the Type-C Hub compatible with Apple's original 12-inch Macbook, but includes two Thunderbolt 3 dongles that take up both ports on either side of the new MacBook Pros with Touch Bar. The hub is compatible with the non-Touch Bar MacBook Pro as well.

After users plug the hub in, they can gain access to a passthrough Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB-C port, and the following ports missing from Apple's device: 4K HDMI, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and both SD and microSD card readers.

The Thunderbolt 3 port supports quick data transfer of speeds up to 40Gbps, as well as passthrough charging for both 13-inch (61W) and 15-inch (87W) models of the MacBook Pro. Users can output 1080p video at 60Hz via the HDMI port, and up to 4K video at 30Hz.

Both the USB 3.0 and USB-C ports include transfer speeds of up to 5 GB/s, while the photo and video editing capabilities of the SD card slots provide data transfer speeds of up to 104 MB/s.

Those interested can purchase the Type-C Pro Hub from Satechi's website for $99.99 starting today. Like the company's other products, the hub comes in MacBook color-matching Silver and Space Gray, and has a brushed aluminum finish to complement Apple's aesthetics.
