Homes in Trump Tower now advertised with a new amenity: Secret Service protection

At Trump Tower, you can have it all. And under a Donald Trump presidency, that means Secret Service protection.

That’s how the New York City real estate agency Douglas Elliman has advertised units inside the flashy Manhattan skyscraper at least.

The security detail was described as the hot new thing at Trump Towers in an email the agency sent out less than a week after Trump’s election, according to Politico.

“Fifth Avenue Buyers Interested in Secret Service Protection?” was the subject line of an email advertisement for 1,052-square-foot luxury condos going for $2.1 million. Read more…

Trump’s campaign manager hangs with singing Naked Cowboys

The lobby of Trump Tower is a way more happening spot than you’d think.

Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, graced the golden entryway Monday and got a live performance from New York’s famous “Naked Cowboys.”

Conway stood by the performers in the building’s lobby as the cowboys sang a song about Trump building a wall, the Associated Press reported. 

The cowboys are more minimally clothed than naked, but the scene made for great juxtaposition with the next president of the United States making world-changing decisions in the same building, albeit far up in his penthouse apartment.  Read more…

On a holiday weekend featuring headlines about Donald Trump’s profiting off of his impending presidency, one smaller example of those gains lies in Trump’s own high-rise home. 

Last week, President-elect Trump announced his wife, Melania, and their youngest son, Barron, would be staying at their current home in Trump Tower New York for a few months after the January 2017 inauguration to allow Barron to finish his school year.

Someone renamed NYC’s Trump Tower ‘Dump Tower’ on Google Maps

Some comedic genius has quietly renamed Donald Trump’s glitzy Manhattan building “Dump Tower.”

If you Google “Trump Tower,” you’ll see a pin labelled “Dump Tower” on Fifth Avenue. Don’t expect it to stay that way for long, though.

Some people online think it was a Google employee who changed the name, although that remains to be confirmed. 

Changing a landmark name appears to be a manual process that needs authorisation from an employee. 

According to Google’s instructions, changes to the map database are reviewed by hand, so theoretically, someone would have had to deliberately hit “confirm” on Dump Tower.  Read more…
