A 15-year-old named Christian recently got himself in a sticky icky situation after swapping phone numbers with his mother. Someone didn’t get the memo, and unfortunately, that someone was his weed dealer.
Christian’s sister Anna tweeted out a photo of the exchange, which as an older, wiser sister, she found pretty hilarious.
A group of fishermen were adorably surprised after a hungry sea lion jumped on the back of their boat and demanded some snacks. The men were out at sea off the coast of California, and happily obliged to the sea lion’s requests.
“Sea Lion hanging out on the back of our boat being fed the finest of fish, and what a friendly little pal he was. Not sure what the bump on his head is though,” the video uploader wrote in the YouTube description.
Many, including politicians, took a few moments on Wednesday to commemorate the lives that were lost 75 years ago during the attack on Pearl Harbor that killed thousands of Americans and essentially thrust the U.S. into World War II.
But Newt Gingrich’s attempt was so awful, Twitter users were left with their jaws on the floor.
It all started innocently enough.
But then things took a turn.
While the attack certainly came as a surprise to the world, saying the “Japanese displayed professional brilliance” is a confusing and offensive statement. Dec. 7 is the “date which will live in infamy,” as Franklin D. Roosevelt, famously declared. Read more…
Artist Nantes Ryka wasn’t satisfied not knowing which of the two gory series has actually been the most deathly. So he created a detailed infographic that shows a clear winner (if killing more characters makes something a winner, that is).
Ryka declares The Walking Dead to have caused 1,216 casualties, while Game of Thrones caused a mere 704.
The infographic catalogues the first five seasons of each show. If it weren’t for the casual murderers of more than 1,000 zombies on The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones would have been crowned most deathly. Read more…
Don’t let anyone tell you your talent isn’t a talent.
Consider Antton Puonti, for example, who took home the first-place trophy on Talent Suomi(basically the Finnish version of America’s Got Talent). While televised talent shows often suffer from a deluge of vaguely folksy singers, Puonti emerged as a different kind of musical star: one who makes fart noises with his hands.
Watch him take on John Lennon’s “Merry Xmas (War is Over).” The high note is simply divine.
The clip, tweeted by Jordan Rudner, a Washington correspondent for Dallas News, begins very normally. “It just tastes good,” he says. It’s a sweet and simple answer, and one he shouldn’t have continued to explain. Read more…
A quick-thinking driver in Albuquerque, New Mexico, managed to avoid a car jacking attempt, and it was all captured on his dash cam.
The unnamed driver posted the clip on YouTube and explains that he was accompanying a friend to a store at about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As soon as the driver exits the parking lot, he is immediately followed by a maroon Chrysler 300. It doesn’t take long before the Chrysler cuts off the dash cam owner, blocking him in at a stop sign.
The driver quickly reverses to avoid a confrontation, and the two cars play cat and mouse as the driver calls 911.
“Who the fuck is that?” the driver can be heard saying on the video. Read more…
